Here's an example of Giant's brief foray into the recumbent market. The seating position is a bit higher and less "laid back" than some recumbents. A very basic recumbent, it might be just the ticket for your first recumbent purchase.

Rans XStream 26 w/upgrades - $3200

Here's a long wheelbase, high performance recumbent that has very few miles on it. Purchased in early 2011, the former owner sadly passed away before he had a chance to rack up the miles.

The bike is VERY light, and most, if not all, of the components have been upgraded from original specifications. The wheels are Velocity Uriel 650c wheels, with Schwalbe Ultremo tires. The crank is a carbon FSA SL-K, and the derailleurs and shifters have been upgraded to SRAM X-9. Come on by and check it out!

Bacchetta Giro 20 - $800

First purchased in 2005, this Giro is in very nice shape with a brand new chain and cassette cogs, freshly tuned up. The former owner upgraded the wheels to Velocity Thracians, with slick, high pressure Schwalbe tires, for a zippier ride.

Sun EZ Sport Recumbent - $600

Long one of the most popular choices for a "first recumbent", the Sun EZ Sport was designed by the folks at Easy Racers, maker of the iconic Tour Easy. The EZ Sport is a little heavier, and has a bit higher center of gravity, but it's a lot of bike for the buck ($1125 new)... even more so for this used one at $600! It's not as shiny and clean as some, but it's a good solid bike, with fenders and rack, at a very reasonable price.

Rans Stratus LE - $1200

Here's a classic long wheel base recumbent from Rans. One of the nice features about Rans' bikes is the very comfortable seat that is very easy to adjust to fit you just right. In addition, the handlebars have a very nice feature... the "grip" section can actually pivot, so you can fine tune your hand position in ways you can't on many other recumbents. EZ-1AX - $500

Here we have the classic EZ-1 compact short wheelbase bike, in the AX version. What does the AX mean? Primarily it refers to the frame being made of aluminum instead of steel, shaving a couple of pounds off the total weight. In addition, the components are a bit nicer than the ones on the steel EZ-1SX.

This model is no longer made, so here's a rare chance to get your hands on one for a very good price!

2006 Barcroft Columbia Recumbent Tandem - $3000

We've had a long relationship with Bill Cook, found of Barcroft Cycles, and we've sold a number of their Columbia tandems over the years. Aside from being a great riding bike, the feature that sets the Columbia apart is its compact size. Not much longer than a typical long wheelbase single recumbent, the Columbia is the easiest tandem recumbent to store and transport.

Bill sold the company a little over a year ago, and the new owners are not yet producing the Columbia model. But here's a chance to own one in excellent shape, decked out with an assortment of bags and accessories. Come on in and try it out!

Rans Velocity Squared $700

Here's a nice 2004 Rans recumbent for you to try out. A long wheelbase design, it's a bit more compact than most LWBs, yet still has a 26" back wheel. Originally sold for $1300, not including accessories, now yours for $700 in very good shape with computer, mirror, and bell.

Optima Rider Trike - was $1000, now $900!

Here's an interesting tadpole style recumbent trike from the Netherlands. One unusual feature is the ability to set the trike up with above seat as well as under seat steering. Most tadpoles these days are built solely as under seat trikes, but Optima designed that option into this trike. Currently set up with above seat steering, it could be converted if so desired. Note also that it has a rear suspension system for comfort on rough surfaces.

Barcroft Columbia Recumbent Tandem - $3000

Here's another bike we don't see that often on the used market... a Barcroft Columbia recumbent tandem, designed by local recumbent builder Bill Cook. It's a great riding bike, and is remarkably compact for a recumbent tandem, making it much easier to transport than most. This bike was bought new in 2005.

Come on in with your riding partner and take it for a test ride!
